My Poem

The title of my poem is Double the Endeavors.

It is about the struggles and success of African American Women.

My inspirations for this poem are Jasmine Twitty, Shirley Chisholm and Michelle Obama.

The theme of my poem is to highlight the challenges African American women face and how they overcame the discrimination of their skin color and gender.

I am now going to recite my poem.

                                                   Double the Endeavors

They have created a new kind of ignorance, an ignorance that they still refuse to take into acceptance.

The fact that they still pretend to give their supposed “evidence” that the discriminations and hardship people face  between the division of race and gender is to  non-existence.

Despite the fact that over again and again we provide sufficient evidence as to how we are treated, with negligence.

Let us review here, you took the color of one's skin into consideration

but only ever when it worked to your favor according to your political administration

Not taking into account to  the discrimination you have created among so many generations

The eyes that have teared  and teared for so many years doesn't wipe way that fact the same situation has appeared times and times again

While still to this day civilians go out to the streets to protest frustration because you refuse to accept that what you did had a justification in any sort of  situation.

And again you come with your manipulation saying that what we experience is nothing but in our imagination.

The discriminations one has faced from all the way back then to now shows how much this nation has not come to a realization that it is a violation.

Not only do you still discriminate against the color of one's skin but also over one's gender

Because whether it's one thing or another you will keep going just to see people struggle just so you won’t hustle

From women becoming politician to serve their community just so they have a position of power to speak their mind and say what's right

Snice 1972 we saw the rise of an African American women, Shirley Chisholm, who ran for the presidency with her transparency only for her to her to hear that her  dependency was to be put on a man.

Growing up facing discrimination for her skin color and gender

She was by far a strong woman who defiantly set up that stage for many aspiring female politicians.

I am glad an nether the less happy and grateful that African American Women have fought so hard despite that people keep trying to tear them apart
